Palma de Mallorca

Anyone who thinks that Palma is nothing but a venue for partying all night long has clearly yet to discover the multitude of culinary highlights, hidden beaches and secret spots that can be found on the Balearic island. Regardless of whether you want to spend a relaxing week on a heavenly beach away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist hotspots, take some time out on a yoga retreat or release your energy in the world of (water) sports, you can do this and so much more on an island that is now not only popular among Germans but all over the world. An absolute must for anyone visiting Palma is a stroll through the Mercado Gastronómico San Juan, the city’s street food paradise: in the market covering more than 1000 square metres, you can treat your taste buds to a huge variety of culinary delights directly from the local region.

Places to stay

If you want to discover the true charm of Palma, you should choose a hotel located close to the old city, for example one of our three highlight hotels: The Sant Jaume Boutique Hotel is situated directly in one of Palma’s oldest streets, between the historic Church of Sant Jaume and the Santa Magdalena Convent. Its sun deck with a pool provides fantastic views of the old city and cathedral below. The hotel is located just a few minutes away from Paseo del Borne, the most exclusive and luxurious shopping street in Palma, and Paseo Marítimo, a beautiful promenade for a perfect walk right by the sea.

The Hotel Mamá also boasts an excellent location. It is the first hotel of the Grupo Cappuccino and was opened in spring 2018. It is also situated directly in the old city of Palma de Mallorca and guests can choose from a total of eight exclusive rooms designed by Jacques Grange. The Sant Francesc Hotel Singular, on the other hand, gives you the chance to stay in a 19th-century mansion at the heart of the old city. The walls of the mansion are decorated with an exquisite collection of contemporary art and photography, most of which was created especially for the hotel.

Food Tips

Anyone who likes to dine out and discover new restaurants is sure to absolutely love the wide variety of gourmet highlights that can be found in Palma de Mallorca. One of our culinary favourites for an evening meal is the Emilio Innobar, which offers a splendid combination of Mexican, Asian and Mediterranean cuisine lovingly labelled “fine fusion” by the Head Chef. Another absolute must for a great meal out is the Vandal, a restaurant that will take your taste buds on a journey around the world and appeal to all of your senses.
